GIAF23은 노암동에 위치한 월화STAY에서 강릉에 머무르며 지역의 정취를 느낄 수 있는 스테이 프로그램을 운영한다.

월화STAY는 지역 주민의 유휴공간이었던 주택을 개조하여 여행자를 위한 스테이로 재탄생한 공간으로 강릉시도시재생지원센터에서 운영 및 관리하고 있다. 

페스티벌의 제목이자 기획의 동기가 된  『서유록』에서 강릉 김씨는 자신의 여정을 기록으로 남기며, 누군가 이어서 자신의 여정을 서술해 나가기를 바라며 글을 마친다. GIAF23는 강릉 김씨의 여정에 이어 강릉을 오고 간 얼굴을 마주한 적 없는 이들이 이어 나가는 서사의 가능성에 주목한다. 사연을 통해 선정된 참여자들은 월화STAY에서 하루 머물며, 도시를 온전히 경험하고 이 경험의 온기를 타인과 나누는 기회를 갖는다.

GIAF23 operates the STAY program at Wolhwa STAY, located in Noam-dong, where visitors can experience the local atmosphere while staying in Gangneung. Wolhwa STAY is a transformed space, previously an unused residence of local residents, now reborn as a STAY for travelers. It is operated and managed by the GangNeung-si Urban Regeneration Support Center. 

serves as a main theme and inspiration of the festival, where Gangneung Kim leaves behind a record of her journey, hoping that someone else will continue to narrate their own journey. GIAF23 focuses on the potential of storytelling, where individuals who have never met in person carry on Gangneung Kim’s narration. Participants will be selected based on their stories, and they will stay at Wolhwa STAY for a day, fully immersing themselves in the city and sharing the warmth of their experiences with others.
