카밀라 알베르티는 인간 중심적인 패러다임에 의문을 제기하며, 다양한 종이 이루는 공동 세계에 대한 대안적 시나리오를 보여준다. 이번 페스티벌을 위해 작가는 강릉에서 머물며, 도시에서 채집한 다양한 재료를 바탕으로 작품을 제작했다. 옥계해변, 하평해변 등을 비롯해 강릉시내 폐기물을 취급하는 쓰레기 처리장을 방문하여 현대의 폐허로 상징되는 버려진 물건, 산업 폐자재, 유기물 파편 등의 재료를 수집한 작가는 이를 알루미늄 와이어와 석고 밴드로 연결해 표현했다. 작가는 그날 수집한 재료에 따라 작업 중인 조각의 형태를 변형하며 전체와 부분을 조화롭게 연결했다. 이처럼 다양한 물질들을 연결하여 조각을 제작하며, 모든 존재가 결국 유기적으로 연결된 세계임을 보여준다.
Camilla Alberti focuses on researching and creating alternative scenarios of coexistence and collaboration between species, challenging the anthropocentric paradigm of experience and relationship with the world. On the occasion of GIAF23, the artist presents a new artwork, produced in the city of Gangneung during the month of September. The artist visited places such as Okgye Beach, Hapyeong Beach, and a garbage disposal facility in Gangneung City to collect materials, including discarded objects, industrial waste, and organic fragments. Each of them is a fragment of a ruin, an element capable of telling a story through the traces imprinted on its surface, like the holes left by woodworms and then polished by the sea. All these collected materials were then connected using aluminum wire and plaster bandages. The shapes were organically transformed based on the materials collected each day, harmoniously connecting the whole and the parts. By merging various materials to create sculptures, Camilla Alberti tells us about the interconnectivity of all entities in the world.

카밀라 알베르티는 인간 중심적인 패러다임에 의문을 제기하며, 다양한 종이 이루는 공동 세계에 대한 대안적 시나리오를 보여준다. 작가의 작업은 버려진 물건, 산업 폐자재, 유기물 파편 등 현대의 폐허를 수집하면서 출발한다. 작가는 시간의 흐름에 따라 폐허의 잔재가 다양한 생명체에 의해 가공, 소비되며 혼종의 상징으로 거듭나는 과정에 주목해, 모든 존재가 유기적으로 연결된 세계임을 고찰한다.
주요 전시로는 제14회 광주비엔날레 이탈리아 파빌리온 《잠든 물은 무엇을 꿈꾸는가?》(2023),《Wonderful》(베키오궁전 및 박물관, 피렌체, 2022), 《Unbinding Creatures》(슐로스 에겐베르크 박물관, 그라츠, 2021) 등이 있다. 2021년에는 이탈리아 외교국제협력부와 문화부가 공동 주관한 ‘칸티카 21’ 공모전 35세 이하 부문에서 수상했고, 같은 해 유럽 내 현대자동차가 신차 바이욘을 론칭하며 진행한 캠페인 ‘#inspeirdbybayon’에 선정돼 작품을 선보였다.
Camilla Alberti focuses on researching and creating alternative scenarios of coexistence and collaboration between species, challenging the anthropocentric paradigm of experience and relationship with the world. The artist starts from the collection of contemporary ruins: discarded objects, industrial waste, and organic fragments. Materials have been colonized, manipulated, and consumed by various life forms over time, becoming symbols of hybridity and coexistence, and images of hybrids and monsters are the starting point for creating sculptures that break down the boundaries of individual bodies.
Major exhibits include Italian Pavilion at the 14th Gwangju Biennale(2023), Wonderful (Palazzo Vecchio and Museo Novecento, Firenze, 2022), Unbinding Creatures(Museum SchlossEggenberg(Graz, 2021). The artist won the public notice Cantica21. Italian Contemporary Art Everywhere – Under 35, promoted by MAECI-DGSP/ MiC-DGCC(2021). The artist has been selected by Hyundai Europe to produce a work for the #inspiredbybayon launch campaign of the new vehicle ‘Bayon’ (2021).
