Kiwalim

Kiwalim was selected through GIAF25’s open call for artists based in the Gangwon region. The name Kiwalim is a combination of the names of the two team members, KIM Gihoon (b. 1990) and KIM Dlelim (b. 1990). As a photographer and video media artist, KIM Gihoon focuses on uncovering the cracks that arise in everyday life, questioning their causes and exploring ways to address them. KIM Dlelim creates performance and installations based on everyday subjects drawn from personal experiences, using narration, sound, video, objects, images, tapestries, and other mediums. Kiwalim has been sharing their everyday life and art for over 10 years, exchanging individual inspirations, imaginations, freedom and the act of creating. Their work centers on everyday subjects that emerge from living spaces, aiming at the integration of art and life. They oppose the elitism and mystification of art, instead pursuing art that exists in reality and everyday life itself. 
Their major solo exhibitions include Acting! Waves~ And Then, (Chilsung Shipyard, 2024), 128 Flux_Deep Boredom: Swimming (ART SPACE 128, 2023). Their major group exhibitions include bac 24 Sokcho Art Fair (Chilsung Shipyard, 2024), Against the Wind (2023 Chodo Port Art Festa, 2023), Goseong Regional Artists Group Exhibition (Museum Jinburyeong, 2023), Pium Residency Group Exhibition of Seven Korean Artists in France (Square Root Gallery, 2022), Hee:m (HEAR, Strasbourg, France, 2021) and Des-Collages (Le Séchoir, Mulhouse, France, 2021).
