ARTIST
SUH Dasom (b. 1984) focuses on experiments that visualize the effort and care embedded in everyday life, particularly the value of things done by hand. She observes the process and form of life shaped by the accumulation of individual moments—whether personal, familial, societal, or connected to nature and history. Based on these observations, SUH engages in process-oriented projects emphasizing interaction with people. Her primary sculptural languages include cooking, sewing, and spatial utilization, along with other elements such as working with clay, writing, and designing, all of which contribute to her ongoing artistic experimentation. Workshops are by the artist as an essential aspect of her artistic process, allowing her to discover new artistic possibilities through collaboration with participants.
SUH’s major solo exhibitions include Excuse Me, Is There a Flower Shop Around Here? (Art District_p, 2021) and Living, Eating, Sleeping (Gallery Hyeyum, 2022). The artist’s major group exhibitions include the Gwangju Biennale’s May 18th Venice Special Exhibition to where the flowers are blooming (Spazio Berlendis, Venice, Italy, 2022). Additionally, the main workshops conducted include, Fluffy Fluffy Bling Bling (The Willow 1955, 2023), Life, Meal, Sleep (Gallery Hyeyum, 2022), and Sandung Moon Cake (BoBo Restaurant, 2020)
